We concentrate primarily on commercial litigation, including securities and False Claims Act cases, but we also assist with general corporate and contractual advice and representation for small businesses.

What we do:

Commercial Litigation – Full service commercial litigation practice, including contract actions, frauds, internal investigations, statutory actions (False Claims Act, etc.), collections, and creditor representation in bankruptcy.

Securities Litigation – A subset of commercial litigation, this includes investor claims such as securities fraud, 10b-5 actions, Investment Company Act claims, breach of fiduciary duty, and minority shareholder claims.

Appellate Practice
– We represent clients in civil and criminal appeals, including amicus filings, regardless of subject matter, in the United States Courts of Appeals, United States Supreme Court, United States Bankruptcy Appellate Panels, Tennessee Supreme Court, Tennessee Court of Appeals, and Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals.

Immigration Practice
– Represent individuals in simple immigration matters, including work visas, student visas, permanent residency, and citizenship.

General Civil Practice
– We assist individuals and small businesses with partnership questions, incorporations, basic intellectual property (trademark, patent, copyright) issues, non-compete issues, franchising, licensing, etc. In addition, we handle basic wills and healthcare documents (living wills and durable powers of attorney for healthcare).

What we do not do:

There are some areas of law in which we do not undertake any representation at the trial or administrative level. These include: family law (adoptions, divorce, name changes, etc.); personal injury; tax (State and federal income taxation, as well as all other areas of State and federal taxation); patent application & prosecution; and local zoning and land use.

We can and do represent clients in appeals from many of the above types of cases. Once your trial lawyer has filed a notice of appeal at the trial level, we are happy to consult with you regarding a possible appeal.
